A village in the Borsod district, 3 km from Miskolc, northeast Hungary.

History

Information on Jewish settlement in Alsozsolca is lacking. The people of the village referred to neighboring Miskolc in all matters pertaining to religious life.

The Jewish population in 1880 was 31. In 1930 the community numbered 75.
 


The Holocaust Period

Germany occupied Hungary in March of 1944, and on June 10, 1944 all the Jews of the village were transported to Auschwitz along with those of the nearby communities of Felsozsolca and Miskolc. Only three of the Alsozsolca Jews survived.

After World War II, the community was not renewed.
