Leon Raiter
(Personality)Léon Raiter (1893-1978), author, composer and music editor, born in Bucharest, Romania. He immigrated to France settling in Paris where he distinguished himself as a lyricist and composer. Some of his compositions, among them Les Roses blancs and Meunier tu dors, are recognized as part of the French music heritage. During the 1930s his music was played at Radio Paris, the first private radio broadcaster in Paris, and Radio L.L., a French private radio broadcaster in the greater Paris area established by Lucien Levy.
