PINKUS, LEAH RESNICK Leah Resnick Pinkus passed away on January 16. She was 70. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., she moved to Spokane, Wash. in 1965 with her husband, Herbert Resnick. There they owned and operated Western Bottling Co. for 15 years. She returned to Milwaukee after Herbert passed away. After returning to Milwaukee she was counselor at a crisis center. She met Ron Pinkus and they moved to Escondido in 1993, where they owned a book bindery business. She and Ron retired to Ensenada Mexico 2 years ago. While in Mexico, she was instrumental in working to save sea lions from being killed by fishermen and in a program to rescue homeless dogs. She was known her exquisite knitting, exceptional cooking and sense of beauty.
