When he arrived, he enlisted in the Palmach, then he came to Kibbutz Ein Harod to establish a kibbutz for Tripoli immigrants. One day he came to visit the transit camp near Hadera where there were many children from Tripoli. The children called him "Moreh (teacher) Nissim, Moreh (teacher) Nissim," and so he began teaching history in high school. At the age of 20, he was already a school principal until he retired.
