[Source: Muriel Schloss L.A. USA 2006] SSN: 373-10-4872 Issued in Michigan Death residence: Texas 75228 Benefits to: Texas 75040 Muriel:Papa wouldn't let Uncle Chuck marry a "shicksa" so he married Ge rt Butman and was very unhappy. Many years after Papa died they divorc ed and eventually Uncle Chuck married another "shicksa," Margaret and th ey were very happy together. I loved Uncle Chuck. When Mother and I lived with Minge and Papa, short ly after Mother's divorce, Uncle Chuck gave up us bedroom to Minge and Pa pa who gave up their bedroom to us. I never heard Uncle Chuck never compl ain. In fact, each night after dinner, I would sit on his lap and we "did" t he crossword puzzle together. He always finished it. And, it was he w ho took me outside and played catch with a tennis ball with me. Uncle Chuck also rode horseback and was a terrific bowler, but he could n ever interest me in the game. He was in a bowling league and bet, b ut he couldn't have bet on himself because he didn't win. When he got married, he and Gert had three boys. He was a great fathe r. As far as I could see, she was not a great mother, but when they divor ced the boys not only went with Gert but broke off all but the most minim al relations with Uncle Chuck. It must have broken his heart. Aunt Gert and Uncle Irv were both dead by the time Uncle Chuck died and M other did not go to his funeral in Dallas, but I did. So did his sons, w ho by then were hardly talking with their Mother. I've tried to keep in t ouch with the boys, but they're not very responsive. Uncle Chuck was given a Baptist funeral which broke my heart. Not one wo rd was said about what a loving human being he was, but I gave my own serv ice and said the only Jewish prayer I could think of.
