He was baptized on Dec. 24, 1637 at the First Church, Salem. His first name was referred to as Experience in a few of the old secondary sources. He married Sarah Andrews on Apr. 28, 1663 in Mansfield, Tolland Co., Connecticut. They had six children: # Sarah about 1668, # Abiah (a daughter) in 1672, # Jane in 1675, # Elizabeth in 1677, # Josiah in 1680 and # Caleb in 1683. All the children were born in Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts. Exercise and at least two of his sons moved to Windham, Windham Co., Connecticut. The northern area of this town were set off from Windham in 1703 and united with Tolland Co., forming the town of Mansfield. No doubt the Conant family lived in the northern area of Windham and were affected by this geopolitical re-drawing of boundaries.
