Tirzah Shemesh, Baghdad, Iraq, 2018

Tirzah Shemesh was born Nadia Hadjama in Baghdad, Iraq. She arrived in Israel in late 1950 as an illegal immigrant. In this testimony she recounts her life in Iraq and in Israel during the 1950s.

This testimony was produced as part of Seeing the Voices – the Israeli national project for the documentation of the heritage of Jews of Arab lands and Iran.
